Sujit Choudhry, the comparative constitutional lawyer

Sujit Choudhry works at the Center for Constitutional Transitions as a Director. The Centre’s main focus is to formulate and gather knowledge that supports the building of the Constitution. It achieves this through networking and joining forces with other renowned experts, to bring about result oriented policies for the research of setting agendas and decision making. The Center for Constitutional Transitions has partnered with NGOs and multi-lateral organizations to work towards achieving their goal. So far, the company has worked with gurus from over 25 countries.

Sujit Choudhry has vast knowledge in writing new constitutions and making amendments to existing ones. He has worked as an advisor, particularly on the constitution and emerging republics, globally. He says that The Center for Constitutional Transitions was founded in order to fill the gaps that are brought about by the lack of effective and adequate research on constitutional formation and transitions. Sujit Choudhry has learned a lot of decision-making strategies in the political world through his experience in the public policy industry. He states that America needs to learn and pick points from other countries’ gains or losses in order to mainstream their political analysis, this is what he deems as using a comparative experience. He also advised that it is important that people use their available resources to understand the needs and to be able to make informed decisions. His dream is to be able to start an organization that covers constitutional law cases from around the world using many languages. Sujit Choudhry, through the Center for Constitutional Transitions, has partnered with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance to accomplish three research projects circling around the constitution and security improvement.
