Suit Coudhry Joins Experts in Kiev to Discuss Legal Reform

Sujit Choudhry is the Director of the Center for Constitutional Transitions. For update on his latest work, head over to researchgate.net. The experts gathered in Kiev, creating a think tank to discuss the executive powers in the Ukraine. There they focused on legal reform and how intergovernmental organizations can create democracy that is actually sustainable around the world.

According to Choudhry, the Ukraine’s state of democratization has not been stable with the centralization of power with the president as well as the weak political parties. He believes it is critical for the thought leaders on constitutional building to discuss policy that supports the reform process.

The Center of Constitutional Transitions creates knowledge that reinforces constitution creation. By gathering international thought leaders on evidence based policy, they are able to aid those who make decisions and those who research agendas.

The Center of Constitutional Transitions work with NGO’s and a global network of organizations with the desire to provide expert research. They have experts from over 25 different countries who seek to help solve constitutional and democratic issues faced in a variety of customers.

Sujit Choudhry has become a well-known authority for constitutional law and politics. His current research looks at the variety of issues in law and politics, specifically, using constitutional design to manage the change from violence to peace. He has published a variety of works including ninety articles, as well as books. Professor Choudhry is a I. Michael Heyman Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkley. He has also held the title of the Cecelia Goetz Professor of Law at New York University and the Scholl Chair in Toronto.  Additional article on law.nyu.edu.  He has a variety of degrees from prestigious universities such as Harvard, Oxford, and Toronto.
